changing sims cards from net 10 to another unlocked phone?

I have a Net 10 phone but the sim card will not work in other GSM phones that are unlocked. Why is this ? and can I fix it? I love the net 10 program but my daughter has an awesome phone and I want to use net 10 on it, it won’t let me. Is there a way I can get around this? Her phone is unlocked
